Restoring The Art Of Letter Writing

Did you see my recent post about seeking the pleasures of the afternoon?

It is so easy to get into the habit of working all of the time and never taking time out to slow down and enjoy the moments throughout your day. At the time of my writing this, I just said to my husband, I cannot believe that it is already June. Because truly, I feel like mentally I am still back in January.

One of the practices that I have started recently is letter writing.

If you saw my ‘Poise’ series over on YouTube, where we covered Jennifer L. Scott’s book “ Polish your poise with Madam Chic”, you would know how much love I have for Jennifer’s work. And with saying that, I have recently signed up to be a part of her member community.

In this members community, not only can you connect with other like-minded people. But she also has a pen pal program.

When Paul & I were married, I was sent over the loveliest monogrammed paper from Papier, and as no one really writes letters anymore… 2.5 years later, I had yet to use it.

Writing letters can be extremely therapeutic and can help to relieve anxiety. The motion of putting pen on paper provides clarity and peace. Research also suggests writing letters to your nearest and dearest to share your love and show your appreciation can help you to feel happier and more satisfied.

Although I am using this stationary to write to someone I have never met, I hope that the love and good intentions can be emitted through the pages.

When is the last time that you wrote a letter? Would you consider restoring the art of letter writing?
