Spa Day For Two At The Barn In Somerset
I moved to England a few months ago, and if I told you the transition was smooth… Well, I would be lying to you.
Everything, and when I say everything… has gone wrong. From a car accident days before I was due to move over. To now my little dog, Charlie has to go for emergency surgery. Never-mind, the cost and effort to get my dogs from Canada to England.
Stress has been the word to sum up my last few months. Needless to say I was very appreciative that Kelly, from The Barn reached out to invite Paul & I in for some treatments.
The multi-award-winning destination salon is nestled in the heart of Somerset. A place that I cannot wait to get to know more of.
The idyllic location allows the mind to wander and offers an experience that goes way beyond the boundaries of escapism.
Leading nationally, the second-generation Barn connects its cutting-edge treatment and holistic therapies with the calm and healing of the natural world. Set within two acres of land, it is a totally private environment where space, peace, and tranquillity have been prioritized. Allowing you to completely escape from the stresses of everyday life.
At The Barn, simplicity rules; nature’s honest beauty is evident in every finish; from natural and grounding grey flagstone flooring and chunky oak ceilings to paints with the highest eco-credentials. Authentic in every sense, The Barn Beauty Salon is a rustic retreat - at one with nature.
All of the treatment rooms are spacious, with the main one hosting the beautiful Cooper Bath so you can privately transition from bath to couch with no interruptions. The design of the interiors is a blend of Scandinavian, and Danish with a Moroccan influence, inspired by Kelly’s love of these places. The design was led by Henry Miller-Robinson in London.
Kelly Hooper; owner of The Barn, visionary force and the brains behind this world. With over 22 years in the industry under her belt, Kelly is not only a therapist and skin expert but also 1 of only 10 UK Dermalogica Ambassadors. Her passion for the industry never stops, nor does her learning. She is committed to providing clients with cutting-edge treatments and products and constantly stays up-to-date with industry trends.
Kelly has been awarded numerous awards, both locally and nationally, and has appeared in national media for her business acumen and dedication to the industry. Making her own profound stamp within the profession, Kelly also shares a passion for creativity and individuality. A lover of sustainable brands, an eagerness to help our world, and a dedication to supporting other creatives from independent makers, designers, and companies that devote their work to giving a personalized touch. The Barn is a real-life fantasy of Kelly’s dream and a part of her heart wrapped into a countryside haven known as The Barn.
Dedicating her career towards helping those find confidence and love within their own skin, proving that you can actually achieve ‘perfect skin’ (or as we like to put it ‘healthy skin’). Moving away from generic beauty interiors, sharpening the blur between salon and spa, and disconnecting from the typical approach this industry takes. Striving further to create a Destination Salon that breaks away from the stereotypical beauty salon we find on our streets. Taking inspiration from all different parts of her life, The Barn is a safe space that invites people to prioritize wellness, explore their creativity and find a new sense of love from within.
Fabricated from a dream of Kelly’s to build a small independent business that was something ‘different’ (special) from the ‘high street salon’ and entirely her own. A place that captivates her love and enthusiasm into each corner and personal touch; The Barn was born.
I was so lucky to have Kelly do my massage after the stunning copper bath infused with Moroccan roses and seaweed from the English coast.
The Barn has a multitude of packages and services that they offer. Head to their website to take a look at a treatment that you can book yourself for.
AD- These treatments were complimentary, however, we only share businesses and services that we love.
