Quaint English Villages & Towns That You Will Want To Escape Too

After spending the last year plus, cooped up and inside, we vowed to get out, and take road trips more often.
Although, it’s a bit easier said than done, as Paul is not the biggest fan of driving. And I however, do not mind driving at all, however I have yet to obtain a British driving license.

Due to the Pandemic, getting a driving lesson or exam is like getting gold dust itself. But here is to hoping that I will be able to get my license sooner, rather than later.

With that being said, we took a quick 45 minute drive into the town of Frome.

Frome is a town with a charming historic centre and a lot of interesting architecture, as well as a thriving visual and performing arts scene. Frome is also the first market town in Somerset. It is a very important place that has had a busy market since The Domesday Book was still being written.

Frome was named one of the "Best Places to Live in Britain" by the Times. It is also a friendly, charming, and lively place to visit, with a lot of history, culture, and natural beauty.

Frome is a wonderful town with a lot going on. There are lots of historic buildings, beautiful independent shops, and creative people. It is the perfect place for visitors to Somerset who want to do something a little different.

We can truly vouch for the fact that they have SO many beautiful independent shops. I find that Bath has this feature as well, but if you have ever been to Bath you know how busy it can get with tourists. Which obviously can alter the type of experience that you are having on your outing.

Although, due to the current climate we do not have many tourists in the country full stop.

If you are local, i’m sure that you have heard of the markets in Frome. From March to December, every first Sunday of the month, the Frome Independent Market comes to town.

The Frome Independent is a mini-festival that takes over the whole town and brings in thousands of people. It brings together the best local food and drinks, artists and designers, produce, plants, flowers, retro, vintage, collectibles, home goods, and street entertainment.

If you want to see more of what we got up to in Frome, then you will want to head to the YouTube video to see what we got up to.
